Photo-sculpture, mixed media

The 20th century left a legacy to the architectural landscape of Moscow in the form of factories and industrial zones. Along with the development of the city, there was a need to change its internal structure - industrial enterprises began their slow movement beyond the periphery of central districts.

Today most of the remaining industrial spaces have long since lost their original purpose and can only count the time before demolition, or spend what remains of their existence continuing an internal, functional transformation during which they undergo repeated changes of purpose and acquire new functions and new owners.

The abstract minimalistic sculptures presented at the exhibition have grown out of decaying industrial spaces, storing the memory of structures that are collapsing and being rebuilt. Photo sculptures change their shape in the same way as our vision changes, depending on where we are in space, what trajectory we choose to follow, and how our gaze slides along the walls with cracked plaster.

Such industrial territories are part of our industrial heritage. Losing the uniqueness of its architectural appearance, the city gradually bids farewell to the shadows of its past, displacing them from the noisy streets, further from the rhythmic tempo of the city's heart. The remaining spaces are like portals to the history of the building, its past inhabitants. I cover them with a thin layer of wax, in an attempt to preserve and protect them from internal and external damage. But what will happen to these spaces next? What will they leave behind?
